Multilayer Security System Using Fingerprint and Face Recognition for Vehicle Access Using Raspberry-Pi Open-Source Integrated Development Board

Vehicle theft is big issue in automobile industry worldwide.Almost all vehicle manufacturing companies provide two layers of security, one is door entry level, and another as engine ignition.Unfortunately, in all vehicles, the key is common for vehicle door opening and turning on/off the engine.In the case of RFID based remote key, a master RFID signal reader device can read the active/passive signal at remotely, this situation is very vulnerable to vehicle safety.The advantage of multilayer security system is, if in first stage of security if door opening is secured, don't worry about the second layer security as vehicle turning on, even in the case of simple push button start vehicle.So, if door is not openable, neither engine turning on nor vehicle mobilization possible, theft of goods and chattels inside a vehicle remain safe.For advanced vehicle door safety, this multilayer security is developed with a Raspberry pi developing board, which interfaced with fingerprint biometric, and camera system.This multilayer vehicle door security system provides an option for the use of anyone or both security level in cascading integrated mode, such as driver can utilize security system for smart key, finger biometric, and face recognition.A multilayer security will restrict the unauthorized entry in vehicles.Owner of the vehicle can set and use multilayer Security system as per level of security requirement.Once this system is installed in vehicles, it will provide maximal level security at the first stage of the restricted entry from door.In laboratory environment implementation and testing were very successfully done and provided fully satisfactory results.Multilayer Security for Vehicle Door Access using Open-source devices will reduce the number of crimes related to vehicle theft and unauthorized access of the vehicle significantly.
