Development of a Solar-Powered EV Charging Station using MPPT Charge Controller and Boost Converter
Abstract
This project presents the design and development of a solar-powered electric vehicle (EV) charging station integrating an MPPT charge controller and a boost converter to achieve efficient energy utilization.Solar panels serve as the primary renewable energy source, while the MPPT algorithm maximizes power extraction under varying sunlight conditions. The boost converter elevates the panel voltage to meet the charging requirements of the EV battery, ensuring stable and reliable output.Experimental testing shows that the system delivers improved charging performance, higher conversion efficiency, and consistent power delivery. The proposed solution demonstrates a sustainable, cost-effective, and eco-friendly approach to EV charging, reducing dependence on grid electricity and promoting clean energy adoption. The project develops a solar-powered EV charging station using an MPPT charge controller and a boost converter to improve energy efficiency. The MPPT controller extracts maximum power from the solar panels under changing sunlight conditions.
