Electric Vehicle Battery Management System With Charge Monitor And Fire Protection
Abstract
The Electric Vehicle Battery Management System presented in this project is designed to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation of electric vehicle batteries by integrating charge monitoring and fire protection mechanisms. The system combines an embedded microcontroller, real-time sensing units, and protective control modules to continuously supervise critical battery parameters such as voltage, current, and temperature.Charge monitoring enables safe charging and discharging by preventing overcharge and deep discharge conditions, while the fire protection mechanism provides early detection of abnormal thermal and smoke conditions. The architecture includes automatic isolation and alert systems to enhance operational safety during fault scenarios.Real-time processing algorithms analyze sensor data and initiate protective actions to prevent battery damage and hazardous incidents. This intelligent battery management system improves battery lifespan, enhances vehicle safety, and demonstrates a cost-effective solution suitable for small and medium electric vehicle applications. The project highlights the importance of integrating monitoring and protection features to achieve safer and more reliable energy storage systems.
