Abstract

The efficient design of green buildings is critical for reducing environmental impacts and improving energy performance within the construction sector. This study examines key factors and design parameters influencing green building performance, with the objective of enhancing sustainability, resource efficiency, and environmental outcomes.A comprehensive literature review was conducted to identify existing research gaps, particularly in emerging economies and in the integration of advanced technologies such as HVAC optimization, hybrid power generation systems, and carbon capture solutions.Primary data were collected through a structured questionnaire survey using a five-point Likert scale, supplemented by an extensive review of peerreviewed journal articles. The Relative Importance Index (RII) method was applied to rank critical design factors, while multiple linear regression analysis was employed to assess the relationship between design parameters and overall building efficiency. The findings reveal that energy efficiency measures, the use of environmentally friendly materials, and optimized building systems are the most significant contributors to green building performance. The study concludes that prioritizing these factors can substantially enhance the effectiveness and adoption of green building practices, particularly in developing and emerging economies.
