Abstract

Hospitals require precise environmental control and continuous patient monitoring to ensure safety, comfort, and effective treatment.Variations in temperature can negatively impact patient recovery, while delayed replacement of intravenous saline bottles can lead to serious medical complications. This paper presents the design and implementation of a Hospital Environment and Saline Monitoring System using an Arduino or ESP8266-based embedded platform. The proposed system automatically monitors room temperature and controls heating or cooling devices to maintain predefined thresholds.Additionally, the system integrates a saline level monitoring mechanism that detects low or empty saline bottles and generates real-time alerts for nursing staff via alarms and desktop notifications. The system enhances patient safety, reduces manual workload, minimizes human error, and supports smart hospital infrastructure through IoT-enabled monitoring.Experimental results demonstrate reliable operation, cost-effectiveness, and scalability for real-world hospital deployment.
