Janta Voice – Voice Based Grievance Redressal System
Abstract
The digital grievance redressal systems have played a significant role in the contemporary governance systems since they contribute to enhancing transparency, accountability, and citizen engagement.Nevertheless, most of the platforms that are present are highly text-oriented, culture-English and technologically sophisticated. These restrict access to the rural citizens, elderly users, and low-literacy / low-digital skills, which leads to slow complaint handling and diminishes the trust in the governance structures. This paper introduces Janta voice, a multilingual, AI based, voice based system of redressing public grievances which aims to get round these issues. The system enables the citizens to lodge complaints in their own language through normal speech, and they do not need to type or fill complicated forms.Voice data are translated to organized digital data through speech recognition and language natural language processing.Artificial intelligence will pick up the important details about complaints like the type of issue, urgency, department, and location to allow an automatic grouping and effective routing. In order to become more transparent, Janta Voice offers real-time tracking of complaints via Telegram notifications so that citizens can keep being updated in the process of resolving the problem. An administrative dashboard is used to centralize the authorities with information about trends in complaints, timelines of their resolutions and departmental performance. The experimental observations show it has been better accessed, less manual effort has been used, faster grievance process and higher citizen satisfaction. The findings show how voice-enabled AI systems can be used to create inclusive, efficient, and citizen-centric digital governance platforms.
