Digital Design and Validation of Precast Mold Systems Using SOLIDWORKS: A Case Study Approach
Abstract
In precast construction, dimensional precision, structural safety, and production efficiency are all dependent on the design and functionality of precast concrete mold systems.Conventional mold design techniques are prone to design errors, many iterations, and scant structural validation since they frequently rely on two-dimensional drawings and empirical judgment.Through an industry-focused case study, this study offers a thorough digital foundation for the design and validation of precast mold systems using SOLIDWORKS.The suggested method combines finite element-based structural simulation, assembly-level design for manufacturability, and parametric three-dimensional modeling into a single digital environment. The results show that, in comparison to traditional methods, the SOLIDWORKS-based digital process greatly improves design correctness, decreases design iterations, and uses less material. The study provides a useful framework that may be used to industrial precast manufacturing, highlighting the potential of digital design and virtual validation tools in enhancing productivity, safety, and sustainability in precast mold engineering.
