Abstract

The dynamic nature of consumer technology, which entails everything from clever devices and mobile programs to e-Health and FinTech programs, calls for the attainment of more substantial models for forecasting how people could exploit them. The paper leads to a critical overview of UTAUT2, which is an extension of the basic UTAUT paradigm to attain a better understanding of the numerous aspects influencing people's adoption and response to technology in different consumer contexts.UTAUT2 comprises seven basic elements, namely: routine; hedonic motivation; monetary value; social influence; enabling conditions; performance expectancy; and effort expectancy. These elements present a comprehensive understanding for forecasting technology adoption.Various aspects, such as health, education, finance, e-commerce, and social services, have been incorporated in the current study through the adoption and application of a secondary research method. For sure, the results attained have validity to forecasting behavioral responses concerning performance expectancy, habits, and hedonic motivation; nevertheless, when trust, privacies, and sector aspects have been included, the included model could become more functional.Meta-analytic research entirely justifies UTAUT2's claim to forecasting up to 74% variance in behavioral intention.
