Abstract

Access to justice is fundamentally hindered by the complexity of legal language, creating a "justice gap" where citizens are often unable to understand their rights or navigate legal procedures without expensive counsel.JusticeLink is an AI-driven, democratized NLP platform designed to bridge this divide. The project integrates state-of-the-art transformer models to perform two primary functions:Plain-Language Interpretation: Real-time translation of dense statutory and contractual text into simplified, context-aware summaries.Automated Citizen Consultation: An interactive interface that allows users to query legal documents and receive guidance on civic processes.By prioritizing transparency, accessibility, and user-centric design, JusticeLink serves as a digital intermediary that empowers individuals to engage with the legal system confidently. Our findings suggest that by lowering the cognitive and financial barriers to legal comprehension, JusticeLink can significantly enhance legal literacy and foster more inclusive civic participation.
