Abstract

With the rapid growth of the internet and continuous advancements in web technologies, online quiz and competition systems have become very popular in educational institutions, training centers, and self-learning platforms. These systems provide an effective way to test knowledge, evaluate performance, and encourage active learning through interactive methods.Traditional quiz methods are mostly manual and paper-based, which makes them time-consuming and inefficient.Such methods require physical presence, manual checking of answer sheets, and delayed result processing. Moreover, traditional systems do not provide instant feedback to students, which reduces learning efficiency and interest. To overcome these limitations, many web-based online quiz systems have been developed using modern frontend and backend technologies. These systems allow users to attempt quizzes online, receive instant results, and participate in competitive learning environments.Online quiz platforms are widely used for academic assessments, interview preparation, skill evaluation, and general knowledge testing. This survey paper presents a detailed study of existing online quiz and competition systems. The paper discusses their features, technologies used, advantages, and limitations.A comparative analysis of different systems is also included to understand their working and identify common issues.Based on the survey, certain limitations such as limited question formats, lack of personalization, and basic security mechanisms are identified. Finally, a simple web-based online quiz competition system is discussed as a proposed approach to improve learning experience, user interaction, and assessment efficiency.[6][7][8]
