Abstract

This study presents the design and development of a Virtual Herbal Garden aimed at creating an interactive and educational platform to promote awareness of medicinal plants used in AYUSH systems, including Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha, Yoga & Naturopathy, and Homeopathy. The purpose of this project is to overcome the limited accessibility of physical herbal gardens by providing a digital alternative that users can access anytime and anywhere. The system is developed using interactive 2D plant models combined with a structured database containing botanical details, medicinal uses, habitats, and cultivation methods.Multimedia elements such as images, videos, and audio descriptions are integrated to enhance user engagement.Search and filter functions, along with guided virtual tours based on health themes, were designed to improve navigation and learning efficiency.User interaction features such as bookmarking and note-taking further support personalized learning. The analysis of system usability and user experience indicates that the virtual platform effectively improves knowledge accessibility and engagement with traditional herbal medicine. The study concludes that the Virtual Herbal Garden successfully combines traditional medicinal knowledge with modern digital technology, serving as a valuable educational resource for students, practitioners, and the general public.
