Abstract

The rapid rise in two-wheeler accidents has created an urgent need for intelligent rider safety systems that go beyond conventional protective gear. This project presents a Smart Helmet that combines air quality monitoring, alcohol detection, accident detection, and automatic emergency alerting into a single integrated system. The helmet continuously monitors the air quality inside using a gas sensor, and when harmful gases or polluted air are detected, a DC fan-based air purification mechanism is automatically activated to provide safer breathing conditions for the rider. An alcohol sensor analyzes the rider's breath and triggers a buzzer alert if alcohol levels exceed safe limits, helping to prevent drunk riding.A MEMS sensor detects sudden impacts and abnormal motion patterns, enabling reliable real-time accident detection. In the event of an accident, the system retrieves the rider's location using GPS and immediately sends accident details along with location information to predefined emergency contacts via GSM or internet connectivity.By integrating multiple safety and health-monitoring features, the proposed Smart Helmet enhances rider protection, reduces response time during emergencies, and contributes to safer two-wheeler transportation.
