Abstract

The rapid growth of cloud computing and data outsourcing services has fundamentally transformed how individuals and organizations store, manage, and access large volumes of data. While cloud-based data outsourcing offers scalability, cost efficiency, and ubiquitous accessibility, it also introduces serious concerns related to data privacy, confidentiality, and access control.Traditional encryption techniques, although effective in protecting data content, significantly limit the usability of outsourced data by preventing efficient search and retrieval operations. To address this challenge, privacy-preserving keyword search mechanisms have emerged as a promising solution, enabling users to perform search operations over encrypted data without revealing sensitive information such as data contents, search queries, or access patterns. However, many existing approaches rely on single-key encryption models and centralized access control mechanisms, which create single points of failure and are vulnerable to key compromise and insider attacks. The proposed system architecture enables data owners to securely outsource encrypted data to the cloud while enforcing access policies through secret sharing schemes.Authorized users can perform keyword searches without revealing their search intent or compromising data privacy. The cloud service provider, although involved in storage and computation, learns nothing about the plaintext data or queried keywords. This approach significantly reduces trust assumptions and mitigates risks associated with centralized key management.Overall, this work contributes toward building a secure, privacy-aware, and access-controlled data outsourcing framework suitable for modern cloud-based applications involving sensitive information.
