A Centralized Aadhaar-Linked Digital Health Record and Billing Transparency System
Abstract
Healthcare record management remains a significant challenge in developing countries due to reliance on paper-based documentation, fragmented digital systems, and limited patient awareness of healthcare benefits. These issues often result in data loss, lack of transparency, delays in insurance claim processing, and underutilization of government health schemes. This paper presents the design and implementation of an Android-based centralized hospital health record management system that uses the Aadhaar number as a unique patient identifier. The system enables hospitals to upload medical records and billing information, while patients and insurance companies can securely view records for transparency and verification.Implemented using XML, Java, and Firebase, the system emphasizes simplicity, accessibility, and data integrity. The proposed solution improves awareness of government health schemes, reduces medical fraud, and enhances efficiency in healthcare service delivery.
