A Mobile Application for Structured Student-Alumni Interaction and Career Support
Abstract
Alumni engagement is an important part of institutional growth, but many diploma colleges do not have a proper system to maintain connection with their former students. After graduation, communication between alumni and the institution becomes weak, resulting in missed opportunities for career guidance, mentorship, and job referrals. Most colleges depend on social media groups or manual records, which are unorganized and difficult to manage. This paper presents the design and implementation of an Android-based Diploma Alumni Connect Platform that creates a centralized system for interaction between students, alumni, and administrators. The platform allows alumni to register, update professional details, and share job or internship opportunities, while students can view alumni profiles and connect for guidance. The system is implemented using XML, Java, and Firebase database, focusing on simplicity, accessibility, and secure data handling. The proposed solution improves alumni participation, enhances student career support, and strengthens institutional networking.
