Abstract

From the Editors Dr. Amy Parker and colleagues have come together to provide their combined perspective on the continuing saga regarding the potential dissolution of the United States Department of Education. Parker and other authors have amassed in one place a summary of the roles that have constituted the achievements of the Department and have identified the importance of these functions for all students with disabilities: specifically for students who are blind, low vision, or deafblind. As the government makes its final determinations on the next phase in the life of the U.S. Department of Education, the authors have given us a detailed road map of the essential contributions of the Department through its leadership, support, and oversight of critical programs. They have given us important thoughts to ponder and have called us to action.
