Abstract

The automobile industry is witnessing a paradigm shift with the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI)enabled features in Electric Vehicles (EVs).These features-ranging from smart navigation and battery management systems to driver-assist technologies-have the potential to transform consumer experiences and accelerate EV adoption. This study investigates the perception and adoption of AI-enabled features among EV users in Coimbatore District, Tamil Nadu.Using a structured questionnaire administered to 120 EV owners, the research applies percentage analysis, Chi-square tests, and ANOVA to examine perceptions, demographic influences, and adoption patterns.Findings reveal that while consumers recognize the convenience and efficiency of AI features such as predictive maintenance alerts, real-time range estimation, and adaptive driving assistance, adoption levels remain constrained by factors like cost, trust in technology, and limited awareness.Younger and tech-savvy users show higher levels of acceptance, whereas older consumers express concerns over complexity and reliability. The study suggests that awareness campaigns, transparent communication of AI safety, and competitive pricing will be key drivers of adoption in emerging Tier-2 markets.
