Abstract

Human–wildlife conflict has become a serious concern in village areas and rural regions due to increasing habitat disturbance and expansion of human settlements near forest boundaries. This work proposes an Automated Wildlife Detection with Audio Deterrent and Alert System designed to provide real-time monitoring and preventive action against wild animal intrusion. The system utilizes intelligent image acquisition through surveillance cameras and applies machine learning based object detection techniques to identify wildlife presence accurately. Upon detecting an animal, the system automatically activates an audio deterrent module that emits controlled acoustic signals to safely drive animals away without causing harm. Simultaneously, alert notifications are transmitted to public users and forest authorities through wireless IoT communication networks, enabling timely response and improved situational awareness. The system is implemented using energy efficient embedded hardware components, making it suitable for deployment in remote and resource-limited environments. The proposed solution aims to enhance rural safety, reduce crop damages and property loss, and support wildlife conservation through non-invasive and automated monitoring. The integrated detection, deterrence, and alert mechanism provide a cost-effective and scalable approach for mitigating human–wildlife conflict.
