Abstract

The study aimed to identify the nature of the relationship between emotional regulation and psychological resilience among educational counselors in the southern governorates of Palestine. It employed the descriptive correlational method, and the sample consisted of (308) educational counselors selected through purposive sampling. The Emotional Regulation Questionnaire and the Psychological Resilience Questionnaire were administered electronically. The results indicated that the level of emotional regulation among educational counselors in the southern governorates of Palestine was high, with a mean score of (4.18) and a relative weight of (83.58%). Similarly, the level of psychological resilience was high, with a mean score of (4.10) and a relative weight of (81.90%). The findings revealed a statistically significant positive correlation between emotional regulation and psychological resilience among educational counselors. There were no statistically significant differences in emotional regulation attributable to gender or academic qualification, whereas statistically significant differences were found in psychological resilience attributable to academic qualification in favor of those with higher experience, while no differences were attributed to gender. The study recommended activating the role of professional supervision for educational counselors by the Ministry of Education – General Administration of Counseling and School Health, through organizing regular supervisory meetings, conducting professional psychological support sessions, and preparing practical guidance manuals, in order to enhance psychological and professional support for counselors and promote their psychological resilience.
