Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of the Learning Stations Strategy in developing deep understanding and productive thinking in Social Studies among primary school female students, in light of the rapid cognitive and technological transformations that require reconsidering traditional teaching practices. The study was grounded in the importance of learning for understanding, enabling students to apply knowledge in real-life contexts and to develop higher-order thinking skills rather than relying solely on memorization and rote learning. It also drew on educational literature emphasizing the need to foster productive thinking, which integrates critical and creative thinking to generate practical and innovative solutions to problems. The Learning Stations Strategy is considered a modern instructional approach based on diversifying activities and organizing students into small groups that rotate among multiple learning stations, thereby promoting interaction, engagement, and active learning. Previous studies have highlighted the effectiveness of this strategy in enhancing understanding and thinking skills. Accordingly, this study underscores the importance of employing learning stations in Social Studies as an approach that deepens knowledge, develops productive thinking, and prepares students to face contemporary challenges with awareness and responsibility.
