Centering Learners' Voices: Mapping as a Tool for Visuospatial Reasoning in Mathematics
Abstract
Visuospatial reasoning considers visual imagery and the dynamics of space rooted in learners’ lived experiences. Mapping is an example of a visuospatial task where learners interact with and represent their environment. The research focuses on children’s experiences with mapping tasks in the context of informal science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics (STEAM) education.
