Penerapan Teknik Relaksasi Benson untuk Menurunkan Skala Nyeri pada Ibu Post Partum Sectio Caesarea di Ruang Flamboyan RSUD Margono
Abstract
Caesarean section is a surgical procedure that often causes pain in postpartum mothers. Pain is an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience due to tissue damage. One non-pharmacological approach to reducing pain is the Benson relaxation technique. This method combines deep breathing and affirmations to help individuals achieve a relaxed state. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of implementing Benson relaxation therapy on reducing pain in postpartum mothers after Caesarean section. This study used a descriptive case study design with a nursing process approach, starting from assessment to evaluation. The study was conducted on July 27–29, 2025. The intervention provided was Benson relaxation therapy for three days, with pain measurement using a Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) ranging from 0 to 10. The results showed a decrease in the pain scale, from a scale of 7 to a scale of 2 after the intervention. This significant reduction in pain indicates that Benson relaxation therapy is effective in reducing pain in postpartum mothers after Caesarean section, as a non-pharmacological alternative that can be applied in postpartum care.
