Abstract

Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disorder characterized by elevated blood glucose levels due to impaired insulin secretion and decreased cellular responsiveness to insulin. Unbalanced dietary habits combined with low physical activity can lead to poor glycemic control and increase the risk of complications. This study aims to analyze the relationship between dietary patterns and physical activity with blood glucose levels in individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus. A descriptive correlational design with a quantitative approach was employed. A total of 86 participants were selected using purposive sampling. Dietary patterns were assessed using the Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ), physical activity was measured with the Global Physical Activity Questionnaire (GPAQ), and blood glucose levels were obtained using a glucometer. The results indicated that the majority of participants had unhealthy dietary habits (69.8%), low levels of physical activity (61.6%), and uncontrolled blood glucose levels (70.9%). Spearman correlation analysis revealed a significant and meaningful association between dietary patterns and physical activity with blood glucose levels (p < 0.05).
