Abstract

Poverty and social exclusion as well as the resulting social inequality are social problems that have persisted throughout history. With this textbook, the authors aim to sharpen the understanding of the social scientific analysis and assessment of poverty. Readers can use the volume to formulate a social science-based mission for social work projects to prevent and combat poverty. At the same time, it provides theoretical explanations for the question of why the chosen approaches can be expected to improve the social situation of those affected. The volume provides the structural-analytical knowledge required for the planning, implementation, management and evaluation of specific projects.
