WASPAS and in the Study and Geospatial Analysis of the Abundance of Hymenopteran Species in Urban Areas of Caribbean Zone
Abstract
The scientific article presented here focuses on the use of WASPAS as a multi-criteria tool and geospatial analysis to study the abundance of hymenopteran species in urban areas of the Caribbean. WASPAS is a tool that is based on the collection of insect observation data, and its subsequent analysis using statistical techniques allows to reach the ordered ranking of criteria so that the results obtained allow to know the abundance of different insect species in urban areas and their evolution over time, considering environmental and risk criteria. It is possible to identify the most common insect species in these areas and their relationship with environmental factors such as temperature and humidity, using geospatial tools. The result obtained highlights the importance of this tool for biodiversity monitoring in urban areas and for decision-making in the management of green spaces and urban planning.
