Language Centers and Multilingual Futures: Leadership and Practice in Thai Higher Education
Abstract
This chapter examines how institutional efforts to raise language and academic standards are shaped by leadership, faculty collaboration, and student needs within a long-established but previously underutilized postgraduate university language center in Thailand. Situated in an increasingly international higher education context, the university faces growing pressure to provide flexible language support for diverse student populations. Drawing on interdisciplinary perspectives from second language acquisition, teacher development, and student engagement, the chapter presents a qualitative case study of a language center undergoing organizational revitalization.
