Abstract

Transformational teaching is important for producing educational change in contemporary education, nurturing trust between the teacher and student. Based on the theories of transformational leadership, trust, and educational change literature, this study integrates global and local perspectives in proposing a conceptual framework relating to leadership behaviors, trust-building mechanisms, and systemic change processes. It includes the significance of discussing the four elements of inspirational motivation, individualized consideration, intellectual stimulation, and ethical role-modeling in establishing positive teacher–student relations and enhancing the learning conditions for professional effectiveness. Furthermore, it reflects upon socio-cultural factors, policy implications, and leadership development strategies that are relevant to the Sri Lankan context. The study also aims to provide theoretical insights to support future empirical research, policy development, and leadership practice by emphasizing trust at the center of long-lasting educational reforms.
