Abstract

This chapter explores the intersection of STEM education, flipped learning, and green education as strategies to empower women and promote sustainable development. Grounded in the framework of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the text examines how inclusive, innovative, and experiential pedagogical approaches can address gender disparities, enhance educational quality, and cultivate environmental stewardship. The first section highlights the role of STEM education as a catalyst for gender equality, analyzing historical barriers, cultural and social factors, and policies designed to close the gender gap in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The second section investigates flipped learning as a tool for inclusive education, demonstrating how active learning methodologies, digital access, and classroom redesign can boost participation among women and diverse learners. The third section focuses on green education, emphasizing the integration of eco-literacy into STEM curricula through interdisciplinary courses, green laboratories, eco-campus initiatives, fieldwork, community partnerships, digital simulations, gamification, and project-based learning. Practical examples illustrate how women can serve as change agents in environmental sustainability, leadership, and advocacy. By connecting theory, practice, and real-world applications, the book provides a comprehensive framework for educators, policymakers, and researchers seeking to empower women in STEM, foster inclusive learning environments, and advance global sustainability goals. Through this integrated approach, the book demonstrates that educational innovation can simultaneously address gender equity, climate action, and responsible citizenship, preparing learners to become competent, socially conscious, and environmentally aware professionals.
