Abstract

MXene (Ti3C2Tx) nanosheets are increasingly being incorporated into fiber-assembled nanocomposites, leveraging their distinctive layered architecture, excellent electrical conductivity, and remarkable mechanical properties, including tunable surface moiety chemistry used in flexible electronics. This chapter reviews recent advances in MXene-based fiber nanocomposites, covering synthesis strategies, mechanical and electrical characteristics, interfacial behavior, and emerging applications. It examines how interfacial engineering facilitates the integration of MXene into fibrous networks and tailors the functional performance of the composites. The discussion also highlights critical uses of these materials in flexible sensors, energy storage systems, photothermal conversion, and biocompatible devices. These multifunctional fiber nanocomposites have shown significant potential across various domains, providing a robust platform for the advancement of wearable and flexible electronics.
