Abstract

This dataset provides detailed descriptions of 583 forest sites monitored within the French Soil Quality Monitoring Network (RMQS), a systematic 16x16 km network across France that tracks soil conditions for different land uses. Field inventories were carried out during two campaigns (2006/2007 and 2024), providing dendrometric measurements and information on silvicultural management, aggregated by site. To complement simplified field measurements, total above-ground biomass volumes were estimated using a learning model based on data from the French National Forest Inventory. Additionally, monitoring of dominant tree felling at these sites (1990–2025) is included and summarised. This dataset is coherent, reusable, and publicly available, providing a valuable resource for studies on forest structure, management, and soil carbon dynamics.
