Abstract

Collective behavior arises in nature from microscopic interactions among multiple agents. This phenomenon is characterized by the emergence of coherent structures that can be several orders of magnitude larger than the individual agents themselves. In this work, we investigate how geometric constraints and light-based environmental cues influence the collective motion of a dilute colony of the green alga Chlamydomonas reinhardtii. In the following supplementary material to the article: Givaudan, Picella, de Maleprade. Roll formation in a bio-active fluid. Comptes Rendus Physique. Academie des Sciences, Institut de France.
