Abstract

The database contains data concerning the application of data assimilation (DA) and machine learning (ML) techniques for the improved prediction of the flow around a cylinder with diameter D moving in a horizontal oscillatory motion (direction x) with low-Reynolds numbers. More specifically, the database is composed of the velocity profiles at two different phases of the oscillation (φ=π and φ=7π/6) at three different planes in the horizontal direction (x/D=-0.6, x/D=0 and x/D=0.6), as well as the integral forces, drag (Fx) and lift (Fy), over several oscillating periods. The database comprises the results from the original Immersed Boundary Methods at several hyper-parameter values, DA, and ML, for which a strategy based on sliding windows is applied. This information allows for the reproduction of the curves and figures from the associated publication.
