Das öffentlich-rechtliche Theater als Lernende Organisation?
Abstract
Public theatres interact with the independent performing arts through collaborative projects. Whether this intersectoral cooperation can lead to learning opportunities depends on whether the cooperating municipal and state theatres have the necessary framework conditions for organizational learning. The willingness of employees to initiate change and launch investigations is a key parameter for the organization's learning and future viability. The funding programs "Doppelpass" and "Doppelpass plus", launched by the German Federal Cultural Foundation (Kulturstiftung des Bundes), encouraged collaboration between independent groups and dance and theatre venues in order to enable the testing of new forms of cooperation. This paper describes the framework conditions that enable organizational learning through cooperation with the independent performing arts as a characteristic of theatres as learning organizations. The research question is explored through qualitative research using the empirical method of surveying. The interviews are used to determine whether public theatres have the necessary disposition as learning organizations, enabling them to take up and apply impulses from intersectoral collaborations in the sense of double-loop learning
