Abstract

Lullaby is a setting of Gavin Yuan Gao’s poem of the same title for a cappella vocal quartet. This composition was commissioned by AVÉ (Australian Vocal Ensemble) to contribute to a collection of new works by Queensland composers setting texts of LGBTQIA+ writers. The piece premiered in a celebration of queer voices at the MELT Festival (Brisbane Powerhouse) on November 5, 2025.
