Abstract

Abstract This article examines humanitarian action in North Kivu (DRC, 2013–2025), highlighting the persistent gap between its legal framework (international and national law) and its effective implementation, which is impeded by insecurity and the politicization of aid. From a socio-economic perspective, while interventions have stimulated the local economy and created jobs, their effects remain precarious, constrained by dependence on external funding and market distortions. The study concludes that an integrated approach (Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus) is imperative to strengthen population resilience, ensure the sustainability of interventions, and promote the autonomy of local actors—an essential condition for lasting peace.
