Religious Diversity Around the World
Abstract
This Pew Research Center report describes levels of religious diversity in 201 countries and territories using religious composition estimates we published in 2025. We calculate Religious Diversity Index (RDI) scores based on the distribution of seven religious categories: Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Jews, adherents of all other religions (an umbrella category) and people with no religious affiliation.
