Abstract

Modern philosophers contributed to a fuller and deeper understanding of the psychological picture of man. Each of them made a personal, individual contribution to the pantheon of knowledge about basic human mental processes. Descartes emphasized the role of self-awareness and autonomous thought, Locke added to the image of man the inner sense, which influences individual perception of reality, Hume, in turn, emphasized the role of imagination and memory in the perception of reality, and Kant strongly linked the senses with reason as the wholeness of the person. The above analysis confirms the deep roots of psychology in philosophical currents
