WORK ENVIRONMENT, NUTRITION AND HEALTH RISKS IN TEXTILE MILLS
Abstract
Textile mill workers operate within challenging work environments that significantly influence their nutritional status and health. Exposure to physical, chemical and ergonomic hazards, combined with socio-economic constraints and inadequate dietary intake, places workers at heightened risk of malnutrition and occupational diseases. The interrelationship between work environment, nutrition and health underscores the need for integrated, interdisciplinary approaches to worker welfare. Addressing these challenges is not only a matter of social justice but also an economic imperative, as healthier workers contribute to greater productivity and sustainability of the textile industry. Policy makers, employers and public health professionals must work together to create safer work environments, improve nutritional support and strengthen occupational health services for textile mill workers in. Such efforts will contribute to improved quality of life for workers and more resilient industrial growth in the region.
