Abstract

The article analyzes recent reforms in the judicial system of the Republic of Moldova, aimed at combating corruption and restoring public confidence in justice. Despite these efforts, the credibility of the system remains affected by internal and external influences, as well as by the method of evaluating judges. The Ministry of Justice has implemented extraordinary evaluations of judges to verify their ethical and financial integrity, aiming to allow only judges with impeccable reputations to hold positions of responsibility. The article emphasizes that these evaluations are regulated by a recent legal framework, but effective implementation remains uncertain. In conclusion, the article suggests that extraordinary evaluations and disciplinary responsibility are interconnected and that both are essential for ensuring the integrity of the judicial system.
