Ensuring the well-being of the person and the family through the social protection system is achieved thanks to the rules of social insurance and social assistance, which constitute two distinct institutions of social security law. Although there is no generally accepted definition of well-being, it could be defined as a description of people"s life situation. As such, the term "well-being" is primarily used in the political arena, being intimately linked to the concept of needs, since it is through the satisfaction of needs that the increase in wellbeing is achieved. Well-being policies are policies designed to meet individual or group needs.
