Aplicarea pedepsei penale. realități și perspective
Abstract
The application of criminal punishment in the Republic of Moldova plays an essential role in combating criminality and protecting citizens" rights. Although the legislative framework is well defined, the system faces significant challenges, such as corruption and prison overcrowding, which influence the public"s perception of justice. Recent reforms aim to modernize and humanize the penal system, promoting alternative punishments and social rehabilitation measures. The Criminal Code allows punishment to be individualized, taking into account the specific circumstances of each case, and options such as plea agreements facilitate a faster resolution of cases.
