Abstract

This paper explores the impact of criminological theories on the understanding and management of crime in Moldova, especially in the context of European integration. It analyzes biological, psychological, and sociological perspectives on criminal behavior, emphasizing their relevance to local challenges. Biological theories suggest that genetic predispositions may influence criminal tendencies, while psychological theories highlight the role of personality and emotional conflicts. Sociological theories emphasize the connection between social conditions, such as poverty and inequality, and crime. The study underscores the importance of adopting holistic policies that address both individual and structural factors contributing to criminality, aligning with European standards to reduce crime and support Moldova"s successful integration into the EU.
