Abstract

We studied the quality indices of the fresh mass from local cultivar "Vital" of Silphium perfoliatum cultivated in experimental plots at the National Botanical Garden (Institute) of Moldova State University, Republic of Moldova. It has been determined that the dry matter of green mass from studied Silphium perfoliatum contained 117-166 g/kg CP, 84-89 g/kg ash, 317-335g/kg CF, 554-615 g/kg NDF, 338-410 g/kg ADF, 46-60 g/kg ADL, 38-56 g/kg TSS, with nutritive and energy value 59.6-61.5% DDM, 9.69-9.97 MJ/kg ME and 5.71-5.98 MJ/kg NEl.
