Abstract

This study investigates the hematological effects of four medicinal plant extracts- grapevine leaves, mulberry leaves, walnut leaves, and walnut epicarp-in experimental diabetes induced by alloxan. Experimental groups included a control group, a group with induced diabetes, a group treated only with plants, and a group treated with both alloxan and plants. The research focused on key hematological parameters: erythrocyte count, hemoglobin level, hematocrit, and mean corpuscular volume. Results indicated that plant administration mitigated the hematological alterations caused by diabetes. The most significant improvements were observed in the group receiving both alloxan and plant treatment, suggesting a potential hematoprotective effect of the phytocomplex.
