Abstract

The current communication reports on the use of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Spectroscopy for the NMR characterization of 1-(2-oxopropyl)spiro[[1,3]indoline-3,2’- [1,3]dioxolan-2-one, for which anxyolitic and antidepressant effects have been found in preliminary tests. The combination of 1D and 2D homo- and heterocorrelation 1H/13C NMR experiments provided the unambiguous set of assignments. Studies regarding the properties of the title compound and its congeners are of great interest, as these compounds may be advanced for further biological testing and preclinical development, or used as possible lead compounds for the future design of Monoamine oxidase inhibitors.
