Abstract

It may be considered that the efficiency of the European Court of Human Rights jurisdiction depends directly on the procedural aspects that govern the European Convention on Human Rights. Therefore, this academic paper aims to determine what is the role of the res iudicata principle and the concept of res intrepretata in promoting the ECtHR authority and effectiveness. Hence, in order to approach the importance of these two notions, the scientific paper will employ the doctrinal legal research methodology, in which the relevant national and international literature, international treaties and ECtHR case-law, play a vital role in addressing the context.
