Abstract

On March 19, 2025, ILO Convention No. 190 concerning the elimination of violence and harassment in the world of work officially entered into force in the Republic of Moldova. This paper examines the legal implications of this development, focusing on the alignment of national labor legislation with the Convention's provisions. Particular attention is given to the obligations imposed on employers, the mechanisms for victim protection, and the role of labor inspection and judicial bodies in ensuring enforcement. The communication also highlights the challenges in integrating international standards into domestic legal frameworks and explores potential legal reforms needed to ensure compliance. By analyzing both the normative and practical aspects of implementation, this presentation contributes to the broader discussion on the protection of workers' rights and the promotion of a safe and respectful work environment. The paper concludes with recommendations for policymakers, legal practitioners, and social partners involved in the implementation process.
