Specific aspects of the methodology for teaching returns in beginner-level tennis
Abstract
This article presents an innovative methodological approach to teaching receptions in beginner-level tennis, based on a pedagogical experiment conducted over the course of one academic year. The research aimed to compare the effectiveness of an experimental instructional method with traditional training, involving two groups of novice athletes. The applied tests assessed the precision, execution speed, and number of technical errors during service receptions performed from both the right and left sides. The results indicated statistically significant improvements in the experimental group, reflected by an increased number of successful executions and a substantial reduction in technical errors (P less than 0.01). The study was complemented by a questionnaire addressed to coaches from specialized sports schools, confirming the central role of technical training during the initiation phase. The findings support the applicability of the proposed methodology and recommend its integration into the training process for beginner tennis players.
