Population of Tabani village and nearby villages in Hotin county in the 1930 census statistics
Abstract
In this article, the author makes a brief analysis of the statistical data on the population structure of the village of Tabani, Hotin County and the neighboring villages, according to the 1930 census data and highlights a series of significant demographic, social and structural trends that outline the evolution of a rural community in a historical context deeply marked by political and territorial changes. The analysis of these statistical data outlines a coherent demographic and social profile of the village of Tabani in 1930: a dense, young, stable and adaptable community, which, despite a turbulent regional context, manages to maintain the balance between tradition and economic resilience. This image reflects not only the features of a specific locality, but can also be interpreted as the expression of a broader reality of the Romanian border village in the interwar period.
