Abstract

This paper is dedicated to the study of certain lexical and grammatical features of scientific texts in the field of kinesitherapy written in French. The analysis covers 20 scientific articles on kinesitherapy topics, authored by various writers and published in the journal Kinesithérapie scientifique, issue no. 327, 1993. As a result of the analysis, specific characteristics of this type of scientific text were highlighted, including kinesitherapy-related terminology, certain stereotypical structures, the use of anglicisms, the syntactic structure of the texts, as well as the frequency of use of verb tenses. It was found that the most frequently used tenses are: Present (Indicative) - 60%, Infinitive - 22%, verb forms ending in -ant (Gerund, Present Participle) - 7%, and Simple Future - 5%. The importance of understanding these features is emphasized for the instructional process during educational activities based on scientific kinesitherapy texts in French, both for informing and documenting students on specific issues (kinesitherapy), and for initiating them into subsequent scientific work.
